The WeekID,com opened its digital doors in early 2014. Nearly two years later we proudly announce our partnership with the East London venue Clutch. Located only a few minutes away from Hoxton overground station, Clutch is the ideal place to celebrate the re-launch of The WeekID and to introduce to the public our first event “Weekid Nights”. If you haven’t heard of Clutch yet, it is a new exquisite place where eclectic music and art coexist harmonically in the most inviting and stylish atmosphere,
Weekid Nights is here to offer what we do best – showcase underground artists. We invite you to join us on our special first adventure in supporting the work of exceptionally talented local DJs and artists. We promise to make your nights special and introduce you to marvelous entertainment and enlightening music experiences!
May Wirtz Racon is a French artist who draws inspiration from geometry and vivid colours. Her exhibition “Salade De Fruit” will feature paintings of her first show earlier this year at the Brick Lane Gallery. May will be there to open the event and present her abstract paintings to the public. Her different perspective of modern art based on geometric patterns and unique colour combinations will undoubtedly excite your senses.
Mr. Bugg aka Bambi Barbie will make your night colourful and dazzle you with his alternative take on a contemporary dance performance. Expect the unexpected with his quirky, unconventional appearance.
Nico De Ceglia will be our final guest DJ of the night. The London-based multi-talented DJ, producer and A&R will be in charge of the decks for the closing set. Known for his peerless taste-making and for having remixed numerous artists such as Roisin Murphy, Basement Jaxx, DJ Hell, Tracey Thorn, The2Bears as well as being a long term collaborator of BBC Radio 1’s legend Pete Tong. Nico will take us in a journey through his many musical influences.
Here you can stream an exclusive mix Nico did last year for the WeekID,
David Agrella uses DJing as an art-form to entertain the crowds with his positive spontaneous energy. His extensive musical background and diverse taste meet a natural sense of immediacy to improvise and create eclectic yet surprising sets. There are no genres on David’s musical palette – “you can dance to whatever you want, regardless of genres” is not just his moto, but his modus operandi. In 2014 David’s passion and need for innovation, combined with renowned international A&R Michael Morley, created ‘Dance Off‘, an alternative dance crossover concept and club night at The Social in collaboration with Heavenly Social Recordings.
George is a local boy and jack-of-all trades. A party selector first and foremost who takes his cues from all corners of the globe. Expect the unexpected! Here is a haunting mix to get an idea:
