SAVAGES – ADORE | WEEKID TRACKS
True emotions are stronger than words – stronger than violence. We live in an era of detachment. What Anne Clarke was singing back in 1983 on “Sleeper in Metropolis” could perfectly relate to our modern society. “Adore” is the second single to be released from Savages’ upcoming sophomore album, which passes a serious message that we seem to neglect or pursue to forget, the love for life. It’s about showing weakness to be strong. It’s about knowing what it means to be human and what it might mean one day.
Jehnny Beth – the frontwoman of the French/British group – flirts with the camera in the most austere and dominant, yet alluring way. Savages once again prove to be way more than just a post-punk band for immense head banging. This time the theme of the album is centered around love, guilt-free desires, evolution and change. Raise your fists and ask yourself out loud: “Is it human to adore life?” Embrace it. Savages bring love to its primal revolutionary and liberating way it is meant to be. What’s more punk and rock’n’roll than embracing what we truly are but hiding anyway?
ADORE LIFE is coming out January 22nd 2016 on Matador Records.
