RATIONALE – SOMETHING FOR NOTHING |
London-based multi-instrumentalist, producer and songwriter RATIONALE has managed to build a growing reputation following the online reaction to his ‘Fuel To The Fire’ debut EP after millions of plays on Spotify and Soundcloud.
Recently signed to Warner Bros. Records, Rationale has released another new track. His latest offering titled “Something For Nothing” was featured today as Annie Mac’s Hottest New Record. While Rationale’s previously released song “Fast lane” was about heartbreak, “Something for nothing” heads on to a pretty different direction. It’s a tale of anticipation for something special to happen, a secret love affair well disguised under the sound of a feel-good pop song from the ones you’ll keep playing on repeat this summer.
“’Something for Nothing’ is a groove based disco tinged love song written about someone I know. I was listening to a lot of Prince and watching Marvin Gaye/ Quincy Jones documentaries around the time I wrote it. I’m a big bass-line fan so when I wrote this one, I knew exactly where I wanted to take it.”
If you haven’t yet discovered Rationale make sure to add him to your emerging artists of the year list as he is here to stay. He is also playing Radio 1’s Future Festival alongside Mura Masa, NAO, Billie Marten and others on Tuesday 19th January.
